These 30 New Year's would you rather questions are for the countdown and the week after it: fireworks, party hats, midnight traditions from around the world, resolutions and big plans for the year ahead. They're clean and quick, so they work at a family party on New Year's Eve, a kids' noon countdown or the first morning back at school.
Pick a side, and once a question has 10 answers you'll see how players split, with the number of votes. Put them on a big screen and let the whole room vote before the ball drops, or save the goal questions for a January journal.

Would You Rather: questions and answers
How do you play Would You Rather?
Read a question out loud and everyone picks one of the two options: no "both" and no "neither". Then each person says why. Try "Would you rather stay up until midnight or wake up early on New Year's Day?" Here you can tap a side (or press 1 or 2), and once a question has 10 answers you see how other players split.
Are these questions OK for school?
Yes. All 30 questions in New Year's Would You Rather Questions are written to be school-safe: nothing scary, gross beyond silly, or mean, and no dating, politics or religion. They suit classrooms, youth groups, family game night and team calls.
What do the percentages mean?
Each split is the share of players on BracketRanker who picked each side, with n, the number of answers. A question shows a split once it has 10 answers, marked "early" until it has 30; before that you see how many answers it has so far. Big Screen and classroom votes are counted separately, so one room can't swamp the numbers.
Can I play these on a big screen or in class?
Yes. "Play on the big screen" shows one question at a time in a projector-sized layout. The room votes by show of hands, or with 1 or 2 in a stream chat, and the host taps the winning side.
How many questions are on this page?
30 on this page, all listed above. Play 10 or 20 in a random order, or go through every one.
