Rules on pools with money differ by state and country, and some places restrict them even among friends, so check what applies where you live. This tool only keeps track of a friendly game: it doesn't take, hold or pay out any money.

How to make a Super Bowl squares pool

  1. Add the players

Type or paste one name per line. If someone bought a set number of squares, write it after their name, like “Ana x5”.

  2. Fill the 100 squares

Fill randomly to spread the squares out, or pick a name and click squares to claim them. Mix both if you like.

  3. Draw the numbers

Once the board is full, draw the numbers. Each team gets the digits 0 to 9 in a random order, one per row or column.

  4. Check each quarter

Type the score after each quarter. The square matching the last digit of each team's score lights up.

Super Bowl squares rules

Each square stands for a pair of digits: one for the team across the top and one for the team down the side. You don't know your digits when you claim a square, because the numbers are drawn only after the board is full.

Only the last digit of each score counts. Say the top team leads 17 to 10 at the end of the first quarter: find the 7 across the top and the 0 down the side, and the square where they meet wins the first quarter. The same board is checked again at halftime, after the third quarter and at the final whistle, so one square can win more than once.

Agree on the price, the payout split and what happens to an empty winning square before the draw, and share the link so everyone sees the same board.

A note on the numbers: football is scored mostly in 3s and 7s, so some digits, like 0, 3 and 7, turn up more often than others at the end of a quarter. That is exactly why the digits are drawn at random after the squares are claimed.

Super Bowl squares FAQ

How do Super Bowl squares work?

A 10 by 10 grid has one team across the top and the other down the side. Players claim the 100 squares, then the digits 0 to 9 are drawn at random for each side. At the end of each quarter, take the last digit of each team's score: the square where that column and row meet wins that quarter.

When are the numbers drawn?

After all the squares are claimed. That way nobody can pick a square knowing its numbers, and everyone has the same chance at the draw. The generator shuffles the digits with your browser's secure random number generator.

What if a winning square is empty?

It is best to fill all 100 squares before the draw. If a square is left empty and wins, agree as a group beforehand what happens, such as rolling that quarter's share over to the next quarter.

Which score counts at halftime and the end of the game?

Use the running total on the scoreboard at the end of the first quarter, at halftime, at the end of the third quarter and at the end of the game. The final score includes any overtime.

How is the pot split?

The pot is the price per square times the squares claimed. The default split is 25% a quarter; a common alternative is 20/20/20/40, with the biggest share for the final score. The split is worked out to the cent and always adds up to the whole pot.

Who plays in Super Bowl LXI?

Super Bowl LXI is on Sunday, February 14, 2027, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. The teams aren't known until the conference championship games in late January, so the grid starts as AFC against NFC. Change the names once you know the matchup.

Is my board saved?

The whole board lives in the page's link. Copy the share link to keep it or send it to your group; nothing is stored on our servers.
