Make a tier list in seconds. Drag or tap items into S to F tiers, add your own words and pictures, then share a link or a PNG. Stuck on the close calls? Decide it head-to-head and let your picks fill the tiers.

How to make a tier list

  1. Pick a template, or start blank

Choose one of 138 ready-made lists (fast food, Marvel movies, Taylor Swift songs…) or a blank board. Add anything that is missing: type it, paste a whole list, or drop in your own pictures.

  2. Drag each item into a tier

Drag with a mouse or a finger, or tap an item and then a tier. Rename the tiers, recolour them or add more with the pencil on each row.

  3. Share it

Download a PNG for the group chat, or copy a link that reopens your exact tier list. It saves on this device as you go, so you can finish it later.

On a phone, touch and hold an item to drag it, or just tap it and pick a tier from the bar at the bottom. With a keyboard, press Space on an item to pick it up, use the arrow keys to move it and Space to drop it; number keys send it straight to a tier (1 for the top, 0 back to unranked).

Making one in Google Sheets or Slides? You can, with coloured cells and copied images, but it takes a lot longer. Start here and download the PNG, or grab a blank tier list template to print or edit.

Let a bracket build your tier list

Ranking 30 things at once is hard; picking between two is easy. Press Decide it head-to-head and choose the better of each pair, as a quick knockout bracket (one pick per matchup) or a full sort (every item gets an exact place). When you finish, the winner goes to the top tier and everything else lands by how far it got. No other tier list maker does this.

What the tiers mean

TierMeans
SThe best. Better than an A, which is the joke the format started with. Keep it small.
AGreat. You would recommend it without a caveat.
BGood. Solid, just not a favourite.
CFine. Neither a recommendation nor a warning.
DWeak. Only if the better options are gone.
FThe worst. The tier you have to justify.

Tier list maker FAQ

How do I make a tier list?

Pick a template or start a blank board, then move every item into a tier: drag it, or tap it and tap the tier. S is the top tier and F the bottom. When you are happy, press Share to download a PNG or copy a link that reopens the list.

Is this tier list maker free?

Yes. Every feature is free and there is no account or sign-up: templates, your own items and pictures, PNG export, share links and the head-to-head mode.

Can I upload my own images?

Yes. Press Add pictures, drop image files onto the board, or paste a picture from your clipboard. Pictures are shrunk and kept in your browser on this device; nothing is uploaded to a server. They appear in the PNG you download, and a share link carries their names.

Can I make a tier list on my phone?

Yes. Touch and hold an item to drag it, or tap an item and then tap a tier in the bar that appears. The board, the template list and sharing all work at phone size, and nothing needs an app.

Can head-to-head picks make the tier list for me?

Yes, that is what Decide it head-to-head does. You pick the better of two items again and again, as a quick knockout bracket or a full sort, and the tiers fill in from the result: the winner goes to the top tier and everything else lands by how far it got. You can then drag anything you disagree with.

Can I rename the tiers or change their colours?

Yes. Press the pencil on any row to change its label (S, Must try, Goat…), pick a colour, move it up or down, add a tier below it or delete it. Up to 12 tiers.

Will my tier list be saved?

Yes, on this device. Each template keeps its own list in your browser, so refreshing or coming back tomorrow reopens it where you left it. To move it to another device, copy the share link.

What does S tier mean?

S tier is the best tier, one above A. It is usually read as special or superior, and comes from grading scales where S sits above A. The tiers below run A (great), B (good), C (fine), D (weak) and F (the worst).

Can I make a text-only tier list?

Yes. Start a blank board and type or paste your items; text items show as name cards, so a tier list of words looks as finished as one with pictures.
